The magic of millet
Millet is an ancient grain that has been used as a staple food dating back before biblical times. Millet grows very easily without chemicals since it has a natural insect repellent quality, making it a great organic crop. Millet is a highly nutritious gluten-free, alkaline grain. Unfortunately, in the U.S. we are more likely to see millet in our bird feeders than on our tables for food. Why use Millet Hulls in a pillow?
Asian countries have enjoyed the benefits of grain hull filled pillows for centuries. Millet hulls make superior pillows because they provide soft flowing contoured support that easily adapts to the body’s curves without compacting. Peacefull Pillows yield readily to pressure providing extreme release to tight muscles, tension and headaches. Air circulates easily through millet hulls allowing your pillow to breathe, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Millet is naturally resistant to insects when growing in the fields, with the hull protecting the grain from insects, molds and mildew. Therefore, millet hulls are considered to be dust mite, mold and mildew resistant making millet hulls a clean, hypo-allergenic pillow filling.
Where is our Millet grown and how is it cleaned?
Peacefull Pillows contain 100% certified organic millet, grown without chemicals in the U.S. Our hulls are separated from the grain and cleaned in a 3 step process in an all organic grain processing facility. Leaving them clean, dust free and ready for use. Our millet hulls are routinely inspected for purity and cleanliness. Each pillow is handcrafted with great care ensuring exceptional quality and hygienic handling.
What makes our pillows non toxic?
Since our pillow fillings are certified 100% organic they are grown without the use of any harmful chemicals. Millet hulls have a natural occurring flame retardant quality, that allows the filling to resist burning without using toxic chemicals, that are typically used for this purpose.
